About

Running With Cake – My Healthy Living Mission:

Health, fitness, and overall wellness have been passions of mine from the time I was able to make my own food and exercise choices. During this time, I have been interested in all things related to a healthy living – nutrition, competitive team sports, running, yoga, stress management, and more.  Finding a balance between food, fitness, and life, is my overall healthy living mission.

What this blog is NOT

This blog is NOT a diet plan. For the most part, I don’t believe in diets – as in going on a diet, where a person completely avoids certain foods like carbohydrates or even sweets. But what I DO believe in is that natural weight loss or weight maintenance is possible through regular exercise and balanced nutrition.

What this blog IS

This blog is essentially a journal of a runner who is trying to find a healthy balance between indulgence and moderation in the world of food and fitness. By showing you my daily choices in food and fitness, I hope to inspire you to exercise, eat better, and live healthier, Although my healthy living philosophy may not work for you, it has worked for me for many years – so I must be doing something right!

My Credentials

I am a Certified Personal Trainer  from the American College of Sports Medicine and have been a runner for many years. In this time, I have never been on a diet and have always maintained a healthy weight for my 5ft. 1 in. petite frame – between 106-110 pounds. Through my positive example and novice guidance, I have coached others, including friends and family, in establishing better nutrition habits, developing and maintaining exercise plans, and engaging in an overall healthier lifestyle. I also have been a health writer for more than 10 years, as a journalist and as a communications professional, and have learned a thing or two about what works and what doesn’t in the world of health and fitness.
